Weigh - in #5....

OK, it is a couple of days late, but I did weigh-in this morning. :-) Since I last weighed I have lost 8.2 lbs. That brings my total loss so far to 33 lbs. :-) I would be doing the happy dance, except my back hurts WAY TOO MUCH.

I really didn't think I had lost that much, because I didn't exercise at all last week. My sister was in the hospital for 4 days, and unfortunately I didn't make time for exercise with all of the other stuff I needed to do. It sure made me appreciate my Mom a lot more. She and I share the housework, cooking, etc. and I do all of the teaching. SO, I made some bad choices in trying to balance my time. I did stick to the food plan though, so that helped. :-) Before the diet it would have been SO MUCH EASIER to just order a pizza or something. :-)

I think I did too much on Monday morning trying to make up for the week of no exercise. So far I have tried Tylenol and Aleve. The Aleve worked better. I also tried DOANZ. That didn't really work. I bought some"white willow bark", and I know that works. It just hasn't "kicked in" yet. I also bought some Bio Freeze this morning. Hopefully the combination of the two will help. :-) Anyone have any other ideas I can try? I'll try almost anything if it helps my back stop hurting so I can SLEEP.

Love,

Wendy Darling

First of all, congratulations on the weight-loss! That's awesome, and not an easy thing to do! As far as pain relief. If Ibuprofen doesn't help, you might have really hurt yourself. Ibuprofen is a muscle-relaxer and pain medicine in one, so it really should work for minor muscle injuries.

Aside from getting checked out to make sure you didn't tear or pull something....try alternating ice and heat. If you pulled or knotted a muscle, this is how you relax it back to normal. I have two football players, one dancer and I run in 5K events, so we've had our share of muscle issues. Very, very painful I know. I hope you get relief soon!

Thank you, Melody :-)

I have alternated ice and heat today. It helped some. The hot shower really helped for awhile, so I'll probably end up in the shower, again, in the middle of the night.

I still say go to the tequilla. Painkiller and muscle relaxer in one.

I can't believe you have lost 33 pounds - that's insane! It seems like it has come off so quickly!

I agree with the ibuprofen, and lots of stretching. I will ask Eric when he gets home as well.

And I totally agree with Laslo - except that I have had a few bad nights with tequila, so I would go with a nice red wine!

Thank ya'll for the advice. :-)

The hot showers/ice packs seems to helped some. I am doing a lot better today. Not totally well, but much better. :-)

Sorry, Sarah. It was "J". She got some kind of infection, still not clear as to what. But, it through her blood sugar over 500, and she is diabetic. So, that concerned the doctor. Also, because of the type of infection they were concerned with possible blood poisoning.

She is just fine though. She was released last Thursday and returned to work this last Monday. :-) All is well. :-)

That is so awesome - the weight loss, not the pain. You should be so proud of yourself. Keep up the good work.
