My Testimony

DeeDee over at “Coulda Been Worse” is having a “Stand Up and Testify Carnival”, and I have been led to participate. It all began with this post. Who would have thought that a testimony carnival would come from a photo of DeeDee and Brad Pitt playing poker, but the Lord does work in mysterious ways…

In this case, He has been all over it. I have always been afraid to share my testimony. For one reason, I was raised that what is between you and God is personal and private. You don’t talk about it. Well, that is just flat not scriptural. God wants us to talk about it. Not only that, He commands us to share our testimonies. How else can we share Christ with others, and tell what He has done for us if we don’t tell them our testimony.

Second, I was always afraid for people to know my sins, because I didn’t want them to think badly of me. I mean, I don’t want to be reminded of my sins, why would I want to confess them to someone else? Well, my friend, that is called pride. And it is a sin. We cannot allow God to lift us up if we are first not willing to humble ourselves before Him.

I was first convinced sharing my testimony while doing the “Stepping Up” Bible Study by Beth Moore. The more I got into the word the more I wanted to get into it. Then, I went straight into the study, “Breaking Free.” Guess what it is about? Yep, letting go of your bondage and sharing what God has done for you. That means giving your testimony. I have been “mentally” preparing my testimony for months. I thought, perhaps God would have me share my testimony at a singles retreat or Thursday night Bible Study. Then, the “Brad Pitt” post came, and I was convinced to participate in this carnival.

I don’t mind telling you that the thought of sharing my testimony still scares me to death. I don’t know why it should, because God has truly changed my life, and I do want to share that. But, it’s talking about what he changed me from that scares me. I mean, there will be strangers reading this post as well as family and friends. Some of my family and friends don’t even know some of these things about me. What if they don’t like me anymore? What if I lose their respect? What if they no longer think I am nice? What if they laugh at me? Or worse, what if they don’t forgive me?

So, I have prayed about this post for over a week. (Really for months if you count when I was first convinced) Praying about this has literally put me on my face before God, and it has taken me over a week to write it. I know this will be a long post, and I apologize ahead of time. My prayer is that at the end of this someone will be inspired to give their life to the Lord, or to have the courage to share what God has done for them. The hardest realization, for me, is that we are all human. We all make mistakes. Maybe not the same ones as others, but in God’s eyes there is not any difference. Sin is sin. And if He will forgive me, He will forgive you. He promised He would. Let’s begin.

First, I was raised to believe in God. We did attend church until I was about 5 years old, at which time my Daddy had a disagreement with the preacher and we did not return. Sundays became “Family Day.” We cleaned house, watched football, just relaxed and played games, or went on a family trip.

However, we were never kept from going to church with friends, and my sisters and I even attended “Missionettes” on Wednesday evenings. When I was a freshman in High School I even went to church on Sunday mornings with a friend of mine. It was at that time that I went forward to pray. Now, I have to tell you that this was an Assembly of God church, which I really didn’t know a lot about. Even though I had been attending Missionettes for a few years I still didn’t really understand their “doctrine” or belief system. So, after I prayed the preacher asked me if I “spoke”. I thought he asked if I prayed. I said, “Yes”, and he immediately told me I had been saved. So, I thought I had been saved. It would be many years before I realized that I was SO NOT saved.

When I was young and stupid I acted, well… young and stupid. My “sins” consisted mostly of lying, disobeying my parents, things like that. However, something did happen during that time that would later set a pattern of sin in my life. This is one of the parts of my testimony where I “put myself out there.” I don’t mind telling you that I am tearing up just typing these words, and I haven’t even told what happened yet.

When I was 7-8 years old I was sexually abused by an older relative. Not an adult, just an older, male relative. I do understand that that sin was not on me. However, because of that incident I allowed that to be a stepping stone later in my life to continue down that path. But, in the beginning I had such low self-esteem, and was afraid of even my own shadow at times, that I told no one. Back then, you didn’t tell. My parents did find out, and took care of it “in house.” But, that was it. It was not really spoken of again.

I would love to tell you that was the only bad thing in my life, but we all know that would be a lie. I hid my sins pretty well, but in reality, I was awful. I gossiped, I was prideful, I was hypocritical. I had bad thoughts, and at times I even used bad words. Mind you, most of this was not done around other people. To them, I was still the nice little fat girl who was shy, and afraid of her own shadow.

When I was 15 my Daddy died. I know I have spoken of that before, so I won’t go into detail about that. But, it was a life changing thing, to say the least. We then moved to what I refer to “cow town USA.” I HATED living there. The phrase “bloom where you are planted” was not exactly a phrase I lived by. I was very active in FHA, and I did enjoy that. We also began going back to Church, and I enjoyed it.

I always enjoyed going to church. I have always liked learning about God, but I never thought I was “good enough” for Him to love me. Or so I thought. I never studied the Bible on my own. I never read it. I knew what I was taught in church and Sunday school and that was it. I never really understood about having a personal relationship with God. I did however, get baptized, because I thought I had been saved when I “spoke”, and when you get saved you get baptized. Right? I found out later that all I got was wet.

When I was 18 I went to Jr. College on 2 scholarships. It was a private, Christian college. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I did have to take a religion class each semester, but I didn’t mind, because I loved to learn more about God. I still didn’t have a personal relationship with Him, but I loved learning. It was during a New Testament class that I suddenly started doubting my salvation. I mean, they were saying that you had to “confess your sins with your mouth”, and “turn your life over to God.” That you, personally, had to pray the “sinner’s prayer.” I didn’t understand what that meant. I mean, the preacher told me I had been saved. I even got baptized. I thought I must just have understood it wrong. I thought of asking the professor or one of my “preacher friends” about it. But then I thought, “No. They think I am already saved. I’ve been baptized. I even teach Sunday school occasionally. What would it look like if all of sudden I say that I am not saved?” So, I kept it to myself. It literally made me ill every time I thought about it.

So, one night after a group Bible Study I just couldn’t take it anymore. I talked to one of my “preacher friends” and asked him how I knew for sure that I was saved. He told me the same things that I had been learning in class. When I reminded him of what the preacher said he asked me if I had prayed for God to forgive me. Had I made a conscious decision to live my life for Him? I said, “No.” I reminded him that I had been baptized. He told me that if I was baptized, but not saved, then I just got wet. That is why I could not have a personal relationship with God. That night I prayed, for real, and I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior.

I could not have been more wrong about everyone’s reaction. They were not confused or angry. They were happy for me. I really grew, spiritually, for the next two years. I taught Sunday school. I witnessed to others, and even dealt with the bondage of what happened in my childhood, and forgave the person who did it. I learned a lot, but unfortunately I still did not have the satisfying relationship I was searching for.

I left the college after 2 years and moved back home. I got 2 jobs and worked a lot. I also took on some knew bondage that I was not aware of at the time. Pride, resentment, anger, prayerlessness and other things kept me from a relationship with God. Because of these things I “fell away” from God. My prayer life became all but non-existent. I stopped reading/studying my Bible, and that led me to make a very hasty decision, which I would regret.

For me, I became very dissatisfied at home. I basically “ran away” to another town. I wanted to start over, but I had no plan, no money and no job. I did get a job as a live-in nanny shortly after moving there. It was for a couple who were not Christians. I did attend church while there, but I most definitely listened to the others around me instead of God. In my heart I knew I had made a mistake, but I was too prideful to go home. So, I stayed. I began listening to others instead of listening to God. My thoughts became more “worldly”, and my decisions were completely out of character for me. I began to drink, and associate with people of “questionable” character.

On one such occasion I went out with a man that I barely knew. Something I would have NEVER done before. He tried to get me to have sex with him, and I actually considered it, but when I said no he got angry. I cannot tell you how I got out of the situation, because I honestly don’t remember. I just know I got away, but instead of that being a “wake up” call, I allowed it to influence me to make a stupid decision.

Thinking even more “worldly” I decided that I needed to know that a physical relationship was not something to be feared. So, I decided to give the one precious gift God had given me away. I talked it over with a guy that I knew, and began my downward spiral into sexual sin. Did I feel guilty? Yes. But, after that night I thought, “I did it. There is no way God will forgive me now. So, why bother trying to live right.” From that time I walked away from God. My prayerlessness, my lack of focus on God blurred that line of right and wrong. And what was worse, people still thought that I was a Christian. I felt sick anytime someone would talk to me about God, because they did not know my “other” life. I had them fooled, but not God or myself.

After a few months I moved back to “cow town USA”, and I tried very hard to get back into the church, but I held on to my past sins and guilt. That continued to keep me from a relationship with God. At that time my spiral into sexual sin continued to take me down further. I will not go into detail about that. I do not want Satan to be glorified in any way about this. All that needs to be said is that struggle in this area of sin lasted for several years.

During those years I did go back to the same Christian Jr. College. I rededicated my life to the Lord, and things were better for awhile. I still held on to the sins of pride, lack of forgiveness, and others. I still did not have that satisfying relationship with God that I so desperately wanted. I was jealous that others did have it. I felt like I was wandering in a wilderness, and I could see the way out, but I kept wandering in circles, never reaching the way out. Does that make sense?

I discovered another sin, jealousy, at that time in my life. All I ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. I felt now that would never happen. God would punish me for my sins. I had learned when I was 19 that I would probably never be able to have children. This was confirmed in my early 20s. This, I felt, was God’s punishment to me. I would never marry, because what man would want a wife that had committed the sins that I had committed. I felt that way for many years, and it caused me walk away from God, again.

It got to the point that I KNEW ahead of time I was going to give in to the temptation, and instead of praying for God to lead me from it, I actually pushed the voice of the Holy Spirit out of my head. Did you get that? I basically told the Holy Spirit, the voice of God, to “shut up.” You know what? Unfortunately for me, He did.

During that time I did things I never would have considered doing before. I committed wrongs against people that were totally out of character for me. I still get to the point of being physically ill just thinking about it.

For the last seven years or so, I have struggled between trying to have a relationship with God, and allowing Satan to put that doubt in my head that “I’m not good enough. God will never be able to use me, or love me.” “I’m too bad.” “If people really knew the things I had done they would never speak to me again.” After all, I had quieted the voice of the Holy Spirit. How do you have a relationship with someone you don’t even talk to?

This was also during this time that my sister was gracious enough to allow me to homeschool my nephew. Being around the other homeschoolers and using Christian curriculum kept God in my mind. Even though I struggled, He was there. Making sure my nephew went to church kept me going to church, therefore kept God in my mind. One day, I had enough! I read all of time about how God forgave people of horrible sins, and He used them. Would He do the same for me? I rededicated my life to God, and begged for His forgiveness, and wisdom. I took very small baby-steps toward the path back to Him.

During this time several situations arose which strengthened my faith in God. First, I became engaged. After a year and a half of engagement I KNEW that I was not supposed to get married. So, the question presented to me was, “Do I do what I WANT to do, or do what I know God wants for me?” Remember, my life dream was to be a wife and mother. But, I sincerely prayed for the strength to do God’s will. I called off my wedding. This was my first big step in beginning a new, real relationship with God.

During this time God also gave me the strength to try to rebuild relationships with certain family members; relationships that I had a huge part in destroying to begin with. Remember the pride, self-righteousness…? Yeah, huge relationship destroyers. These relationships still aren’t 100%, but I am striving to make them stronger, with God’s help.

About two years ago I decided I was not going to allow Satan to win any more battles. I was going to fight for a relationship with God. I still didn’t quite know what to do, or how to do it, but I was determined to learn. It started with a weekly womens group. I kept my mouth shut and listened. We did a study on the Proverbs 31 woman. Oh, how I wanted to be her. So, I tried taking baby-steps. I committed to reading my Bible more; to pray, and more importantly, listen to God. A little over a year ago I felt God calling me to move to a different church.

Instead of just “jumping into it”, I prayed about it for several months. Really searching for God’s will. Once I was sure of His will, I did move churches. A couple of months after moving to the new church I joined a woman’s Bible study class. They were doing the book of Daniel, by Beth Moore. This would be my introduction into Beth Moore studies. I learned SO MUCH and, more importantly, I enjoyed it! This got me really in the habit of daily prayer and study. I could see my life/attitude changing.

Now, this was actually more of a history/prophecy study. Not exactly “life changing”, but it was to me. I felt comfortable around the ladies, my hunger to learn more grew. As soon as they announced the study for “Stepping Up” I signed up for the class. Here is where my new relationship with God would really grow.

Each day I looked forward to seeing what God had to teach me. I was so excited to learn/be reminded that God does not sleep. That He WANTS for each of us to trust Him, and be saved. After all, He sent His Son for ALL OF US, so that we may be forgiven. The one verse that really hit home with me was Psalm 130: 3-4 “If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.

I swear y’all, when I read that I almost went Pentecostal in my bedroom; raising my hands and praising God. (And for a Baptist that is really saying something. LOL….) He really didn’t keep a record of my sins. His desire is NOT to condemn us, but to forgive and free us of bondage! If He didn’t “keep an account” why was I? (I’m getting goose bumps all over again, y’all.)

When we began that study we committed to asking God to help us grow/teach us everyday. So, I vowed to give Him everyday of my life. Everyday I woke up and the first thing I did was pray for His guidance. I gave Him that day. I studied His word everyday. Now, does that mean I never got down? No. Did I still struggle with thinking of past sins and guilt? Yes, but I was quick to pray for those thoughts to be removed now, instead of concentrating on them. Do I still sin? Everyday. But, I am giving them all over to Him. I was so much happier, and was developing a “SATISFYING” relationship with God. I even committed to not doing the things that led me down the spiral to begin with.

I had to distance myself from certain movies, songs, even jokes with subtle innuendos. Things that would make me feel accepted by others and then bad about myself. Things that took my mind off of God. Even if my actions or thoughts weren’t considered sinful by the world, I had to remove that. Does that make me a “prude” in others eyes? Probably. Does it make me a “fanatic”? Am I taking my faith “TOO seriously?” Probably. But, I know me. And I know that to have the relationship that I want to have with Christ this is what I have to do.

Does this mean there is no joy, laughter, in my life? Absolutely not! In fact, there is much more now than ever.

You know what’s about to happen right? Every time God is winning, Satan will throw something at us to try to ruin that relationship. God allowed me to be tested. Without going into detail I will just say that God has allowed our family to go through a crisis that tested our faith to the very core. I cannot speak for everyone. This is my testimony, so I will just tell you how I have come through this test.

First, let me say that “God is good!” One of the things I have learned is that Satan cannot stay somewhere if God is there. So, I took to heart the advice someone gave me not long ago. “When you feel like Satan is tempting/testing you, start singing praises to God. Praise Him for something, anything. Satan cannot stay around if you do that, and you will get through it.” So, I did. My favorite songs to sing are “Steal my Joy” and “Shackles” by Mandissa, as well as several praise choruses.

Y’all, I cannot tell you how totally on the mark that advice is. If you’ve never tried it, do it. It works!! Praise God!! I can tell you that it is only because of God that I have the mindset/attitude that I do. My “mantra” has become, “God is in control. His will be done” I constantly pray for strength and understanding.

I have learned to trust Him completely, and to look back on my past and realize His plan for my life. Instead of believing I was being punished for not fulfilling my dream of being a wife and mother I now know that it is actually a blessing. One thing I have learned from “Breaking Free” is: “The potential for spiritual offspring in the lives of those physically barren is virtually limitless. If He restricts you from physical offspring, He desires to set you free from all restrictions in order to bear spiritual offspring.” (Beth Moore, “Breaking Free)

OH MY WORD, y’all. That realization has spoken so much to me. And I do feel like I am being “groomed” for such a thing. When and how? I have no idea. But, I am looking forward to the journey.

Another realization I have learned lately is this; according to Psalm 45: 13-15 “If anyone has accepted Christ she is a daughter of the King. And according to Isaiah 61:10 WE are the bride of Christ. No, I may not have an “earthly husband”, but I am part of the Bride of the greatest Husband to ever have existed. And, I may not have children, but thanks to the graciousness/love of my dear sister my nurturing side is definitely being used, and I get to still be a teacher through homeschooling. God is granting my dreams, just differently than I imagined. Different, but better.

And lastly, I know that even though I may not be “populating the earth” God can, and will, use me to populate the His Kingdom.

One of the great things about the internet is that it can be used for so many great things, like sharing God with others. Unfortunately, the bad thing about it is that facial expressions and sincerity is not something that can be produced with words on a “page”. As I have typed this entire thing, I have prayed that my sincere praise, love and appreciation for God come across to those who have made it this far in the post.

Everyday I feel closer to God, and the excitement to share Him with others grows even deeper. Everyday I pray for wisdom, guidance, humility and to hear His voice. (This from the woman that basically told Him to “shut up” years ago.) Now, I did not say all of this to say “WOO HOO! Look at me now.” No, I said all of this to say, “Praise God! Because, none of us can change without HIM and He can and will love you and change you for the better.” This is totally a “God thing, and it is meant point you to HIM.”

Yes, I know that there are those who know me who will question my sincerity. Who will doubt, or laugh at me. Especially those who know me personally, and go “I have never seen her act this way, or speak this way before. I don’t know whether to believe her, or think she’s a hypocrite.” All I can tell you is that I am still in the early stages of my journey. It is both exciting and scary. I am still learning and growing, and I will stumble. I pray that you will be there to help me get up when I do, and pray for me. For those who are reading and may not have the satisfying relationship with God that you want, or you are still holding on to “baggage” from past sins; let me encourage you to hand it over to Him, and “Enter into the joy of the Lord.” (Matt. 25:21)

Very Inspirational!! :-)

I haven't posted very much, because I am working on a post for next week. DeeDee is going to have a "testimony carnival", and I feel led to participate. You have no idea how much the thought of this scares me. I have been working on it since last weekend, and I can promise you I will still not feel satisfied the day I post it. It is the most dificult thing I ever written. Ever...

Anyway, I did want to share this fantastic lady with you. :-)

I know Patti Foster personally. I used to attend church with her and her family. I have heard her sing many times, and she is still awesome! She is such a wonderful speaker, and a wonderful person. She was at a local book night where several authors got together and you could meet them. My sister was nice enough to pick up a copy of the book "Amazing Faith" for me, which Patti signed. :-) Her story, which is just one of many in the book, is so inspiring.

Please, visit her website. You may be blessed to hear her speak one day. :-) Here is what the bio on her site says:

" Patti Foster’s life is a testament to the intense love she feels for others. Her joy and laughter refreshes those around her, and she welcomes opportunities to influence lives and make a difference.Originally from Jacksonville, Texas, Patti comes from a supportive family who encouraged her to take risks, to try hard and learn from mistakes.

As a college student majoring in music education, Patti traveled with a fine arts team to Australia, toured with the university choir to the British Isles and spent a week in the heart of Mexico with a mission group. Performances with the Fort Worth Chamber Orchestra and the Sam Houston State University Orchestra further broadened her scope of music and expression. She graduated from Sam Houston State University ( Huntsville, Texas) in 1989, and shortly after, traveled abroad to Eastern Europe providing music for crusades and teaching conversational English through music. Since 1990, Patti’s focus has been radio. She was the morning show host at WFRN, an inspirational Christian radio station in South Bend/Elkhart, Indiana. Before that, she fulfilled a variety of positions for KVNE, a non-commercial Christian music station in Tyler, Texas. Patti’s radio career provided opportunities that led her into becoming a full-time speaker. She traveled nation-wide speaking to church and corporate organizations of all sizes. On June 18, 2002, Patti was severely injured in a horrific traffic accident. She suffered severe head trauma and was in a coma for six weeks. Her life hung in the balance. She has had to learn to live again.

And now, as her restoration process continues, Patti’s desire is still to inspire, encourage and motivate so many through her speaking.Patti Foster in one word? Passionate. Whether on the tennis court or on the fairway, in a crowd or at home with family, on stage or on the air—she gives all that she has to whatever she pursues.

Just wanted to share...

I hope that you all have had a really great day. Mine was long, but fun and productive. :-) I wanted to share a couple of things with you about my day. ;-)

First, this list was given to me today. I REALLY like it, and thought that I would share it with you. It is called "The 21 Rules of This House", and is from the book by the same name, written by Gregg and Josh Harris.

The 21 Rules of This House
In This House:

1. We obey our Lord Jesus Christ.
2. We love, honor and pray for one another.
3. We tell the truth.
4. We consider one another’s interests ahead of our own.
5. We speak quietly and respectfully with one another.
6. We do not hurt one another with unkind words or deeds.
7. When someone needs correction, we correct him in love.
8. When someone is sorry, we forgive him.
9. When someone is sad, we comfort him.
10. When someone is happy, we rejoice with him.
11. When we have something nice to share, we share it.
12. When we have work to do, we do it without complaining.
13. We take good care of everything God has given us.
14. We do not create unnecessary work for others.
15. When we open something, we close it.
16. When we turn something on, we turn it off.
17. When we take something out, we put it away.
18. When we make a mess, we clean it up.
19. When we do not know what to do, we ask.
20. When we go out, we act just as if we were in this house.
21. When we disobey or forget any of The 21 Rules of This House, we accept the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

I also went to a flower garden today just to walk around and take some pictures. By some I mean about 150. (Thank God for digital photography) ;-) As we all know we can take about 100 pictures, and one or two will come out really well. I also thank God for photoshop. Because of it I am able to share these with you. :-) Enjoy.

I hope you liked them. ;-)

The End of the Beginning...AWESOME SONG!

I first heard this song Easter morning at church, and I kept meaning to look it up and post it. I, finally, remembered to do it. ;-) David Phelps has truly been blessed with this voice. The video itself isn't that great, but don't let that take away from the song. :-)

6 unimportant things about me...

Yesterday, Dee Dee at "It Coulda Been Worse" posted this meme at her blog, and said if we hadn't done it to consider ourselves tagged. I thought that since I am having trouble coming up with things to write about this would be a good idea. We'll see how "good" of an idea it is after I list my six.

Let's begin.

1) I love to drink pickle juice. I have always loved pickle juice. But, it must be dill or kosher. My parents were convinced that I would destroy my kidneys when I was a child by drinking this. I didn't see the harm. After all, it's just vinegar and spices. :-) It tasted really good to me, and I LOVE pickles. My sister and I actually used to eat cucumbers dipped in vinegar. Yeah, we were weird, but it tasted good; and we WERE eating our veggies. :-)

While typing this I decided to see just how weird I am by googling "drinking pickle juice", and it turns out that there MIGHT be some health benefits to it. http://healthpsych.psy.vanderbilt.edu/pickleJuice.htm Guess I may not be that weird after all. :-)

2.) I bite my fingernails. I always have. It's a nervous habit.

3) I twist my hair. I have done this since I was old enough to have hair to twist. I have tried to stop, but it is of no use. I just can't help it. I don't even realize I am doing it half the time. When I was young I would twist it so badly that it would get into knots, and I wouldn't brush my hair out properly. I would get "rats nests" in my hair, which my daddy would comb out (can we scream OUCH?!) and then would swear to cut my hair off if I didn't comb it properly. My hair was always short when I was little. I always had the "Pixie", "The Tenille", and the "Dorothy Hamill" haircuts. And I wondered why my parents never let me grow it long... :-)

4.) I did not have my first "official" date until my freshman year in college. Yes, I was a late bloomer in the dating arena. I went to a small, private, Christian college, so naturally my first date was with.... a preacher. Go figure. We went out twice. He was nice enough, but it just didn't work out. Later that semester I did get up enough courage to actually ask a guy out. He was also a preacher. It was during "TWIRP" week. That stands for "The Woman Is Required To Pay." It was pretty much a Sadie Hawkins Dance, only it lasted all week, and there was no dance. It was a Baptist college after all. :-) It was still fun, but I do remember getting, shall we say ill, just before "popping the question." Did I mention I was nervous? He was a sweetheart, and of course said, "Yes." He was, however, the only guy I "twirp'd" that year.

5) I failed my driver's test the first time. I hit the cone while trying to parallel park. Apparently this is a major "no-no". The officer explained that it is just like hitting a parked car. I told her I did not know how to parallel park, and probably would not be able to learn. She asked me, "What do you plan to do if you need to park and the only spot available is parallel?" I replied, "Drive around the block until a spot becomes available, or park further away and walk." I passed my second attempt, only because I did not hit the cone. To this day I still cannot parallel park.

6) I cry at movies. This will not come as shock to my friends and family who read this blog, but it is true. I am deeply moved at several movies. I have actually cried so hard that the movie had to be paused long enough for me to regain my composure. This has only happened three times that I can recall. Once during the ending of "My Girl". You know the spot, after the character Thomas J. passes away, and Vada tells his Mom that her mother will take care of him." OK, I'm crying again already... The second was "Of Mice and Men". If you are familiar at all with this movie/book I don't even have to tell you what part I lost it at. If you haven't seen it, rent it. 'Nuff said. The third movie was "Life is Beautiful", the Italian version with the subtitles. I don't normally like subtitled movies, but this one I made an exception for. Now, these are not the only movies that have ever made me cry, but these are the ones where I totally lost it. As I said, the movie had to be paused until I regained enough composure to continue. Thank goodness I was watching each of these on DVD, and not in the theater.

Well, that's my six. For this I will tag Princess Ladybug, Cleggy, Kwizgiver, Julie, Sarah, and anyone else who would like to play along. :-) Be sure to leave me a comment to let me know you did it so I can read it. :-)

Movie review/answers to your questions...

OK, it is late on Tuesday, but it IS still Tuesday. So, I am not late. :-)

First, let me tell you that the movie "Nim's Island", it is good. Not major "YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS FILM" good, but it is good. It held the nephews attention very well, and at some parts he was really into it, and he forgot we were in the theater. He laughed a little too loud at times, and said, "UH OH" real loud a couple of times, but he watched intently. To me, that means he enjoyed the show. :-)

Now, for the answers. Obviously from the major response I received I can tell that I must be very popular in the "blog world." :-) I mean, one more question and I don't think my server could have taken it. ;-)

Oh, I kid. :-) I am very grateful for Terry and Julie who did respond with questions, and now I will end the suspense and answer them with the high intellect that you have come to expect. Or not.

Terry asked: "Do you think the new role of "etc." will be a gorgeous success or one of the great train wrecks of our time?"

To be honest, I know I over use "etc." a lot. Let's face it, I make up my own grammar/punctuation rules. Don't believe me? Just look at all of the run on sentences. :-)
Actually, I kind of go along with BooMama on this one. I use it because I have nothing else to say, but I don't want you to know that. After all, if I was out of words/thoughts I wouldn't sound like the intellectual that I am. ;-)
So, short answer, it will eventually become a "train wreck".

Julie asked: "I was wondering if you ever made it to Houston last fall and how your trip was.I also would like an update on your diet. I started reading when you were going great guns. It was very inspiring. I haven't heard anything about it in awhile."

First, sadly no. I did not make it to Houston. ;-( I am STILL trying to get there. As a matter of fact, my friend, A, called me on Wednesday to see when I was going to be able to come down. I'm working on it my friend... We even discussed she and her children coming here for a day trip during the summer. :-) Yes, I got excited!! But, I still want to go to Houston.

Secondly, regarding the diet; it isn't going so well. I did so well in the beginning, then during the holidays we had a family "thing" going on and I began stress eating. I have stopped "stress eating", but I haven't really gotten back on my diet as adamant as I was in the beginning. I am still going to the gym, but I can tell that I have gained some weight back. How much? I have no idea. I haven't had the courage to go weigh. But, I still fit into my jeans, so that is promising. So, the reason you haven't read anything about it, is because I have been too ashamed to write anything. Seriously, I could use your prayers on that.

It seems like it is much harder to go back to phase 1 then it was to begin phase the first time around. Does that make sense? I'm not sure why. Maybe because now I know what to expect. Maybe because I am afraid to fail. I don't know. I KNOW I need to go back to it.

I remember how much better I felt when I was doing it. I am determined to do it again. Now, I just need to go shopping so I have the right food to eat for it. :-) Thank you for asking me about it, Julie. Just writing about it is making me feel better about starting again. :-) I am serious about needing your prayers though. :-)

Wendy Darling

I'm probably setting myself up.....

Well, I awoke this morning to a beautiful day. :-) The weather is truly gorgeous. We have a Singles Sunday School class fellowship planned for this afternoon. We will be grilling and playing volleyball. It is open to the whole family, so I am planning to take "Little Mark", and Angel (she is supposed to come over today).

I still need to make the dessert, because as I was told on Thursday night "I am the dessert lady." :-) I like that title, so I think I'll just stick to that. :-) But, seeing how it is already 9:00 am and I am still in my PJs, and haven't had breakfast yet, it will be awhile before the dessert gets made. :-)

I am still in a "dry spell" as to what to write, so I have decided to take a chance and let YOU ask me some questions which I will answer here. I have seen this done on several other blogs, and I thought "that's way too scary. Who knows what might get asked." But, I also think it might be adventurous. :-) SO, you may ask a question in the comments, or e-mail it to me. I will answer them on Tuesday, here. :-)

Please, keep the questions appropriate. :-) You can ask about homeschooling, a recipe, about life in East Texas, etc. Let's have some fun. :-)

Memories of disobedience...

Did you ever disobey your parents by watching something they told you not to, and you still think about today? That happens to me a lot.

Like a lot of people, when I wake up at night I look at the clock. MOST of the time it is 3:15 am. The first thing that enters my mind is ALWAYS "The Amityville Horror." To this day that is really the first thing that I think of, and it still scares me. Why?

I also will not have the head of my bed against a window, and I don't like facing away from the open bedroom door at night. I also do not like uncovered windows. This fear stems from seeing "Salem's Lot" when I was younger. I snuck into the kitchen and peered around the corner just in time to see the boy floating at his friends bedroom window. I can still see his face as he tapped on the glass, beckoning his friend to let him in.

Why do we do this to ourselves? I grew up watching scary movies, even though I was told not too, and to this day they still have an effect on me.

What about you? Does anything still come to mind, or bother you, when you recall disobeying your parents? Surely I am not the only one. :-)

He guilted me into it...

God really does use children to make us do the things we should do, you know. :-) Yesterday Little Mark and I had to help with the concession stand at the local Jr. Stock Show. It is a requirement for each club to help, because it is a fundraiser for the 4-H clubs in the entire county. So, we did our part. Our shift was 7:00 am -2:00 pm. And I could BARELY walk when it was time to leave.

I can't believe I used to waitress given how much I hurt when I left yesterday. I came home, managed to get from the car to the couch and promptly fell asleep for an hour. I then awoke, stood up for about 2 seconds and immediately got Charley Horsesin the calf and shin. At the same time, and in the same leg. Can we say "painful?" I hurt so bad I even missed Bible Study last night. Thankfully, I am still doing my Beth Moore Bible Study "Breaking Free", and I can lay in my bed to do that. :-)

Anyway, this morning I was still REALLY stiff and I did not want to go to water aerobics. But, Little Mark wasn't having any of it. He said, "You'll feel better once you're in the water. Isn't that what you always tell me? WORK IT OUT!"

Yes, I was duly guilted into exercising, and I did feel better. I hate it when he uses my own words against me. And he's right. :-)

I heard from "Angel's" Mom today, and she informed me that "Angel" wants to drop out of school, "because she wants to go back to Aunt Wendy's house forever and forever".... her Mom's reply? "Just what I need, a 4 year old dropout." LOL... I reminded her that there is always homeschooling. LOL... :-)

Will I get sued if I call them "Fakesters"?

Oh sweet mercy, y'all. I made a cookie the other day (and yesterday) that I have to share with you. :-) My brother bought some of those Oreo Cakesters, and they were good. But, I thought "I bet I could make these for less money."

SO, I bought a cake mix and tried out my theory. OH. MY. WORD. Y'all have to try these. I even included pictures of the process, just like REE. :-) So, without further ado...

Ingredients:

NOT the Pringles, OK? :-) Just these 4 ingredients. Very easy.

Now, you want to mix the cake mix, two eggs and 1/3 Cup of oil together VERY well. I used a beater, and it does become difficult after a bit, so you may want to just do it with a spoon, which is what I plan to try next time.. The dough will be VERY stiff. Like this:

Then you want to scoop out even sized balls of the dough and place on a cookie sheet. Like this.

Now, I usually line my pans with parchment paper, but I didn't realize I was out when I did this, so I had to make do with Release. It worked fine, but I still prefer parchment paper.

You then bake the cookies at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. They will look like little cakes when they come out.

As they cool they will "deflate." Let them cool on the pan for 2 minutes, and then transfer them to a cookie sheet. Allow to cool completely. Then you will place about 2 tablespoons of the fluffy, white frosting on the back of one cookie. Like this:

Then sandwich it together with another cookie, and you have these:

Don't they look YUMMY?! :-) Enjoy!!

As sad as I am to see it end, I thought the final episode was very good. (Except for all of the darn commercials!! I mean, could you have anymore?!) I love the use of the flag. :-) Did anyone else watch? What did you think?

Allow me to be shallow today...

OK, to you this may not be a major travesty. It has nothing to do with politics, hunger in third world countries, war, or anything major like that. No my friends, today's post truly saddens me and I must talk about or go insane. I don't even know how I will make it through the rest of the day knowing the impending doom that is most assuredly coming later.

Tonight the final episode of Jericho will broadcast, and I am distraught.

If you remember this post, then you remember that I admitted to not watching Jericho for most of the first season. (I am still ashamed) But, y'all, I waited VERY patiently for the second season to FINALLY air. I have watched EVERY ONE, and now they are cancelling it, again. It is a tragedy.

Yes, CBS is stupid.

I did something this week that I have never done before. I actually read the message board for Jericho to see what other fans are saying. Believe me when I tell you that they are saying A LOT, and CBS might want to listen.

So far, the two most popular comments/beliefs are 1) (cue "Twilight Zone" music) The cancellation of the show is actually a conspiracy by the US Government. Uh... yeah... whatever.... While I do believe a situation like this might could actually happen (in theory) I seriously doubt this is the reason they are cancelling the show. If you want to get technical, Stephen King's "The Stand" could happen, in theory, and no one banned him. For which I am glad, because Gary Sinise totally rocked in that show! :-)

OK, you can forget the "Twilight Zone" music now.

2) Most people agree on how the show should end. Most believe they should drop the last nuke on CBS studios. While I admit this would have some sort of " ironic justice", I don't see that happening since they are taking the bomb to Cheyenne, WY.

CBS says that the shows ratings "dropped" this season, and that is why they are cancelling it. The fact that it suffered the same as other shows due to the writer's strike, and that when they did bring it back they changed the night and time slot had nothing to do with it.

Whatsoever.

Nothing.

Don't even blame yourself, CBS, for putting it in the "killer" time slot.

It had nothing to do with it.

I'm just sayin'.

I do hope that perhaps Sci-Fi will pick it up and make new shows. I have no idea how that will work, but I for one would watch it.

So, tonight at 8:45 I will be sitting my hiney in front of the TV. I will not move, answer a phone, or respond to anyone's questions until at least 10:00 pm, and that depends on how the show ends.

I may be too speechless to talk for a few minutes.

I look forward to the 2 season DVD boxed set we all know they will end up putting out for sale, because although CBS is stupid for cancelling the show, they recognize a good marketing ploy when they see one. OR, we hope they do. They will make a bundle selling it to the fans.

So, how many of you will also be watching tonight?

"The boy knows what he likes..."

When we were running errands this afternoon "Little Mark" had his Ipod plugged in and we were enjoying the music. His uncle has placed some different appropriate music on there, some that we enjoyed growing up. :-) (You know, so he will know that there is other music besides Hannah Montana and such.)

One of these "gems" is titled "The Thing." Do you remember this song? Here is what Wikepedia has to say about it: "The lyrics take the form of a first-person narration, describing the discovery on a beach of a box with an unknown contents. Whatever is in the box is never revealed, nor is it called "The Thing" in the lyrics. When the lyrics call for The Thing to be named, the vocals simply pause for three percussive beats. For example, the first verse ends, "I discovered a [three-beat pause], right before my eyes!" (The listener could "substitute" any three-syllable phrase his imagination might invent, such as "dog-gone thing".)

Initially, the narrator is overjoyed by his discovery and immediately goes to sell it. He is thrown out by a shopkeeper, who threatens to call the police. The narrator takes The Thing home but is thrown out by his wife as well. He attempts to give The Thing to a hobo, who runs away from it. As the years pass, the narrator fails to get rid of The Thing. He dies and arrives in Heaven with The Thing, but Saint Peter tells him to take it "down below" to Hell. In the final verse, the narrator warns the listener not to open boxes on the beach like he did."

About half way through the second verse "Little Mark" questions (rather irritated) "What is IT?" I reply, "Listen to the song. It's a fun song." He listens, and then replies, with a complete straight face, "That. Is . The . Stupidest. Song . EVER. Written." I explained the song to him and said, "It isn't stupid, it's silly. You have to use your imagine as to what is in the box. It's a silly song." (Figuring he would understand, because he knows EVERY "silly song" from VeggieTales ever written.) Nope. He replied very seriously, "Silly is not stupid. This song is stupid."

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. :-)

What These Roses Say About You

You are a classic romantic who believes in true love.

You often experience deep emotions and feel warmth toward almost everyone.

You are a bundle of positive feelings and sweetness.

Math Doesn't Suck....

I have to say it... I really like Math.

There. I said it. It's out there.

When I was in 6th grade I enjoyed Math. I tested at a 9th grade Math level. Once in the 9th grade I entered my own personal hell known as Pre-Algebra. I have no idea what happened. I couldn't get past the concept of putting numbers with letters. Then, they started throwing out words and phrases like "formula" and "algebraic equations." The fact that I was shy/self-conscious did not help matters at all, because I would not ask questions. Everyone else seemed to get it so easily, so obviously the problem was with me.

OH, and don't even get me started on how long it took to do ONE problem, and how much paper that one problem used. My teacher made us show EVERY step. One problem could literally last 3 pages. She must have been getting a kickback from the notebook paper companies.

I received my first "F" that year. For the next 2 years of my school career Math would be my downfall. However, I did do better in college. I still never quite got the concept of formulas. I could solve them, but I never got the hang of knowing when to use what formula. I did really like quadratic equations though, because you just plug in the numbers. They were actually fun, but now I can't remember how to do them.

So, this morning came quite as a shock when I found myself finding the area of a trapezoid.... for fun. Clearly, I am either becoming a math geek or I seriously need a life.

How has this new fondness for math developed you ask? The nephew. "Little Mark" is actually pretty good at math. Thankfully, he inherited his mother and uncle's Math skills. He caught on fairly quickly to formulas and such. :-) I think it is the program we are using.

Let me just state now how much I LOVE Math-U-See. If this curriculum had been around when I was in school I think I would have done a lot better in Math. Seriously. Check it out.

** I do not get paid to promote Math-U-See, but if they would like to give me the Epsilon curriculum for such a positive review I am not above taking it. :-)**

OH, and regarding the title of my post? Check out this book. I have read most of it, and I have to say...

..... I like it. :-)

(You expected me to say "It didn't suck" didn't you?) :-)

Tagged, again...

I know that I already posted once today, but I was tagged by Princess Ladybug and if I don't do it now I may forget. :-) So, here goes...

The rules as I understand them are as follows…

1. You have to post the rules before you give your answers.

2. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name or your mother's maiden name).

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to tag one person (or blogger of another species) for each letter of your middle name. (Be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged.)

Is that clear as mud? Then let's begin. :-)

S- Sue. I was named after one of my Daddy's cousins. He really liked her name, obviously, and so he named me when I was born. I have never met her, but I would like to one day. :-)

U- Underdog. I used to watch the cartoon when I was little, and I LOVE movies/shows where the underdog wins. :-)

E- Educator. I love teaching children, and I have for years. Whether it be Sunday School, public school, or homeschool. I have been thinking about expanding my comfort level and teaching an adult Sunday School class, in a year or so. (I know this comes as a shock Cleggy, since I haven't mentioned it.) :-) Right now, it is still in the THINKING stage. I also still love to learn new things, so I am being educated as well. :-)

Now, I have to tag 3 people. I tag Sarah, Terry, and Julie. :-)

Love,
Wendy Darling
Where has the time gone?

Oh my goodness, y'all. I can't believe it has been 6 days since I last posted. Everyday I intended to post, but something happened and I didn't. OR, nothing happened and I didn't have anything to post. So, hence the 6 day absence.

However, the last few days I have wanted to blog about some things, but time got away from me, and since I actually do need rest I went to bed instead of post. So, let's talk briefly about those things. :-)

First, let's discuss the time change. LEAVE IT ALONE!! I know why they did originally, but my goodness does it mess up the internal "clock."

Secondly, I had A LOT I wanted to say about the California court of Apeals decision regarding homeschooling, but DeeDee said it so much better than I that I am just going to refer to her post here. All I can say is, "You go, girl!! I agree with you whole hearted." :-) Thankfully, I got this statement from HSLDA today, " State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell comes to the defense of homeschool families. "The California Department of Education policy will not change in any way as a result of this ruling. Parents still have the right to homeschool in this state," he said. That is encouraging. :-)

I was also going to do a post about duct tape and rubber mallets. My brother says, "You can fix anything with duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it isn't supposed to use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it is supposed to use WD40." I would like to add rubber mallets to that list, because for the last few months that is the only way we got the blower to work in our van, and it got the right window to go up when it was stuck. BUT, we no longer have to worry about that, and you can read all about it here.

Don't you love how I am writing about all kinds of stuff, but making you go read it elsewhere so it sounds really intelligent and stuff? :-)

I am so excited about a new movie coming out. I cannot wait to see this movie! And, since the site says it better than I can I am just posting the info they sent down below, and... you got it.... I'm sending you over there. :-) You get to watch the trailer. Enjoy!!

In 2006, Sherwood Pictures and Provident Films released a movie about a high school football team discovering that with God, nothing is impossible. Produced by a church on a shoestring budget, FACING THE GIANTS became the surprise hit of the year, touching the hearts of more than 1.5 million people in theatres. In 2007, the film came out on DVD and was the best-selling entertainment product (DVD or CD) in Christian stores for the entire year!
Now it's 2008 and ...
Welcome to FIREPROOF, an action-packed love story that will have audiences laughing, crying, and on the edge of their seats as they are drawn into the world of a firefighter, his wife ... and a marriage worth rescuing. FIREPROOF is the third movie from Sherwood Pictures, the hope-filled, heartfelt moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church that continues to touch the world from Albany, Georgia.

Awwww....:-)

I don't know about you, but until last week we had a bunch of rolls of film and throw away cameras that had not been developed. 36 to be exact. We had them for so long that I honestly forgot what was on some of them.

I won't even bother getting into all of the reasons why we didn't get them developed. Let me just say, again, how much I LOVE my digital camera. The pay off of being able to see the picture immediately is extraordinary, and we won't even discuss how much cheaper the developing of the photos are in the long run.

Anyway, last week we took all of the film to be put on CDs, so we could then decide which ones were worthy of actually being developed into photos. Once I got them home it was like Christmas seeing all of the photos we had forgotten we had taken!! :-) It cost us around $140 to this y'all, but this one picture, in my opinion, was worth every penny. :-)

That is "Little Mark" at 6 years old reading to his little brother while he is sleeping in the Crib. The book is called "Time for Bed", and he LOVED that book at the time. He had it memorized. :-) Now, I don't usually post pictures of the children on the Internet, but this one was just too cute. I did ask permission (thank you Queen B), so it's all good. :-) Isn't that just the sweetest picture ever?!

Update on "Little Mark's" missing Nintendo...

If y'all remember the little "incident" with Little Mark's Nintendo DS on Sunday, then you know things have been "interesting" around here. :-)

Well, it took the boy about 10 minutes yesterday morning to ask me if I had seen it. My response was, "Where was the last place you left it?" After a moment of hesitation he replies, "It was on the top of my dresser the last time I saw it." (Uh, yeah. OK.) "Well then, it should still be there." I then proceeded to walk back in to my room when he asks me point blank "Did you take it to teach me a lesson?" Right to the point isn't he? :-)

I stood there for a moment and said, "Well, if I took it that means it was not where it was supposed to be, correct?" He just looked at me. "I know this because I found hidden in a bathroom drawer. What was it doing in there?" He proceeded to tell me some story about "I was tempted to play it, and I even took it in the bathroom, but the then I felt guilty and put it in the drawer so I wouldn't play it. Then I forgot to take it out."

OK. It may have even happened that way, but the boy just lied to me about it being on the top of the dresser. So, I said, "Yes, I took it. Clean your room and you'll find it." It took the boy ALL DAY to clean his room, because he followed me around the house most of the day crying and screaming wanting to know where it was. I never gave in. (You'll be proud of me Queen B.) :-)

By the end of the day he was a basket case. I asked him, "Did you clean your toy box?" He said, "No." I asked, "Did you clean your CD boxes?" He responded "Yes." I asked did you clean your dresser drawers and hang what needs hanging?" He said, "Yes." (Remember, it's hidden in the dresser drawer. Not very well I might add." So, I just said, "Well, finish your room and you'll find it."

He just knew I had hidden in my room, or somewhere around the house. Well, around 7:30 last night he finally found it. In the last place he cleaned. :-) He is still grounded from it, but I think it taught him a lesson, and I told him "You would have found it a lot sooner if you kept your room neater." He actually agreed with me. :-)

So, we'll see how the Responsibility Chart goes, and see if he actually earns the privilege of playing with it back. At this rate he may be in college before he gets to play with it again. :-)

Obama update:

So, You remember the other day when I mentioned the e-mail that I sent Obama, and I posted his response. Well, I got a reply to my second e-mail (y'all remember, it was reiterating my original question that he didn't answer) Would you like to know what it says? THE EXACT SAME THING THE FIRST ONE SAID. WORD FOR WORD! This just goes to show that the people he is paying to read the e-mails are NOT earning their money.

So frustrating... I'm not even going to bother with a third e-mail.

It never pays to be dishonest...

I have to tell y'all what "Little Mark" did today. I almost feel a little guilty about it, so I am going to confess here, to you, my dear friends. :-)

We have instituted a new "responsibility chart" for him, because he was not completing his chores/school work. The new chart is spelled out for him, and I am not going to "nag" him to get it done. He either does it or he doesn't. But, if he doesn't then he gets NO privileges that day. No TV, Computer, electronics of any kind. If he does not have the weeks worth of school work finished by 3:00 pm on Friday then he does not get ANY electronics for the whole weekend. If it needs a plug or battery to work, then he better not even think about touching it.

Well, this morning his uncle realized he was spending a lot of time in the bathroom . So, after he left the bathroom I went in to fix my hair for church. I opened the drawer to grab my hairbrush, and guess what I found? That's right my friends, I found his Nintendo DS "hidden" in the drawer. He had been in the bathroom playing it.

SO, he was busted, and I almost opened my mouth to call him on it. But, then I had a better idea. I quietly went into his room and put it under some clothes in the second drawer of his dresser. The drawer that has clothing shoved into it that should be hung up. The one he rarely cleans out. Yeah, that one.

I didn't say a word to him about it all day. A little bit ago we heard him get out of bed and go to the bathroom, again. His uncle went to see if he was OK, and he replied that he needed to use the restroom, again. His uncle questioned him on why he still had on his glasses. "Little Marks" reply? "I have a little diarrhea, so I may be in here reading for awhile." Uh... yeah. Okay.

So, we left it at that. Then, we heard drawers being opened and closed, as if someone was looking for something. About 10 seconds later we heard the toilet flush and "Little Mark" went back to bed. I guess his tummy problem was suddenly healed. (Miracle!)

So, now I am wondering how long it will take him to 1) ask if we have seen his Nintendo, 2) admit where it was, 3) actual clean his room enough to find it.

As I said, I feel a little guilty about the whole thing, but I am praying this will be a good lesson in not only honesty, but responsibility for taking care of his things and keeping his room clean. And, the punishment? Well, he was supposed to get the Nintendo DS back tomorrow. All he had to do was wait 24 more hours. Now? Well.... we'll see how long it takes him to finally clean the dresser..... Tough love hurts.

It's stuck in my head....

Well, I was going to blog tonight about the things that happened today. This morning "Little Mark" and I helped out at the delivery for "Angel Food Ministries." I always enjoy helping with that, and this was "Little Mark's" first time to help. He did well, and I was very proud of him. :-)

This weekend is something special at our church. They are doing "D-NOW" (Discipleship Now) for the Youth group. This year's theme is "True Love Waits" and their will even be a "purity ring" ceremony for the student's and their parents tomorrow evening. I have never seen this ceremony, but I am excited to witness it. :-) I think it is a great idea. :-)

The kids were all so excited, and seem to be having a great time. I had an opportunity to hear some of the band while I was helping serve the dinner tonight. They are pretty good. They reminded me a lot of Third Day, or the Newsboys. The music was loud, but the kids loved it. :-)

However, the title of my post actually came from a result of reading Big Mama's blog. :-) She referred to a Mac Davis song "It's Hard to be Humble" in her post today. Oh my word!! Y'all, I not only know every word to this song, but we still own it on 45. (For you young'ns that is larger than a CD, but smaller than an album and you play it on a turn table.) :-) SO, naturally I had to go to YouTube and look for it. For the last half hour I have listened to "It's Hard to be Humble", "Texas in the Rear view Mirror" and my favorite "Don't Get Hooked On Me." It keeps playing in my head now, over and over. And you know what? I don't want it to stop. :-)

I always thought Mac Davis was so cute. He had the nicest smile, and the look in his eyes always made you think he was up to something. :-) I swear, I feel like a kid again. :-) Thank you for the memories Big Mama!! :-)

Love,
Wendy
